Specialist Profiles

Dermatology and skin specialists

Yongbo Jia, MD

Yongbo Jia, MD (贾勇波)

Head of Dermatology, Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics Medical Center · Vice Chief Physician, Licensed Aesthetic Attending

Medical dermatology · diagnosis · chronic skin disease

Dr. Yongbo Jia is Head of Dermatology at Chongqing West District Hospital and the lead physician of this site. A vice chief physician and licensed aesthetic attending, he graduated from Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine and trained in dermatology at the Institute of Dermatology, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, and at Chongqing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

His practice is medical dermatology in the full sense: establishing a diagnosis before any treatment is chosen, working up chronic and recurring rashes that have not settled elsewhere, and managing inflammatory skin disease over years rather than weeks. Because the service sits inside a tertiary general hospital, the laboratory, mycology, pathology, and immunology support needed to reach a diagnosis is available on site — and when a skin sign points to disease elsewhere in the body, the service works alongside rheumatology, nephrology, and infectious disease colleagues rather than sending the patient away to start again.

Clinical focus

  • Assessment and triage of changing moles and suspected skin tumours
  • Preoperative skin assessment and postoperative scar and pigment care
  • Comprehensive pigment management: melasma, freckles, sun spots, café-au-lait, and age spots
  • Aesthetic excision of superficial moles, cysts, and haemangiomas; refined cosmetic stitching
  • Repair of appearance-damaging skin conditions

Academic roles & achievements

  • Member, Jiusan Society
  • Member, Chongqing Integrative Medicine Skin & Beauty Committee
  • Advanced training at the Institute of Dermatology (Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences) and Chongqing Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine

Diagnosis first

Most treatment failures in dermatology trace back to a missed diagnosis or an abandoned routine. Getting the diagnosis right, then staying with the maintenance plan, is what quietly produces results.

Shaoliang Wang, MD

Shaoliang Wang, MD (王韶亮)

Director, Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics Medical Center · Vice Chief Physician, Associate Professor, Doctor of Medicine

Skin tumour surgery · scars · wound repair

Dr. Shaoliang Wang is Director of the Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics Medical Center at Chongqing West District Hospital. He previously served as Deputy Chief of Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery at Xinqiao Hospital, affiliated with Army Medical University, and brings more than two decades of tertiary-hospital surgical experience to his practice.

Within the dermatology service his role is the surgical end of the pathway: removing what dermatology has diagnosed. That means excision of skin tumours with margin control, layered repair of the defect, scar management after trauma and burns, complex wound repair, and correction of surgery that has failed elsewhere. He also works with Dr. Jia on the lesions where the clinical diagnosis is uncertain and the pathology result will decide the operation. Two decades of tertiary-hospital surgery inform every opinion he gives.

Clinical focus

  • Scar revision and comprehensive scar management after trauma and burns
  • Surgical removal of skin tumours with margin control and layered repair
  • Excision and repair of moles, cysts, and other superficial lesions
  • Complex wound repair and flap surgery
  • Repair of failed operations (revision surgery)

Academic roles & achievements

  • Member, Craniofacial Surgery Group, Chinese Medical Association Plastic Surgery Branch
  • Deputy Chair, Chongqing Medical Aesthetics & Beauty Committee
  • Standing Committee Member, Chongqing Medical Doctor Association Plastic Surgery Branch
  • Expert Panel, Chongqing Aesthetic Surgery Quality Control Center
  • Developed a new endoscope- and water-jet-assisted technique for removing injected polyacrylamide (Aomingding) breast filler; awarded the Wang Liangneng Cup Military Excellent Scientific Paper Award
  • Principal investigator on an international cooperation sub-project, a Chongqing Natural Science Foundation grant, and a Third Military Medical University technology-transfer project; published 4 SCI papers and holds 8 national invention patents

A hospital-based advantage

When a lesion needs a pathology answer before the operation, when a margin has to be reported on, or when a wound needs theatre-level care, they are already in the same building. Practicing inside a tertiary general hospital means that backstop is real, not theoretical.

Tongchun Mao, MD

Tongchun Mao, MD (毛彤春)

Deputy Director & Head of Aesthetic Surgery · Vice Chief Physician, Licensed Aesthetic Attending

Aesthetic surgery · fine closure · facial repair

Dr. Tongchun Mao is Deputy Director of the Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics Medical Center and head of its aesthetic surgery service at Chongqing West District Hospital. A core specialist formerly at the Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery Department of Xinqiao Hospital, affiliated with Army Medical University, he has rooted his clinical practice for more than 20 years and personally performs over 700 operations a year.

Within the dermatology pathway his contribution is the fine closure that follows a diagnosis: applying facial-feature surgery skills and aesthetic closure principles so that a removed lesion leaves the least conspicuous mark the skin will allow. He works to a consistent philosophy — operate on the anatomy you have, change only what analysis justifies, and keep the result natural enough that nobody asks who your doctor was.

Clinical focus

  • Detailed facial-feature refinement and repair (eyelid, nose, chin, lip)
  • Aesthetic closure principles applied to tumour and trauma excisions
  • Aesthetic excision of superficial tumours
  • Facial rejuvenation and body contouring

Academic roles & achievements

  • Member, Rhinoplasty and Trunk Tumor Groups, Chinese Medical Association Plastic Surgery Branch
  • Member, Chongqing Medical Aesthetics Quality Control Center; Member, Chongqing Medical Accident / Disability Assessment Expert Pools
  • Deputy Chair, Chongqing Shapingba District Medical Aesthetics Committee
  • Published 5 SCI papers, holds 7 national patents, and has participated in 4 research projects
  • Repeatedly named an “Outstanding Young Physician” at Xinqiao Hospital since joining in 2005

The closure is the result

Once a lesion is gone, what remains is a line. Fine closure technique, respect for aesthetic units, and scar-conscious aftercare decide whether that line fades into the skin or announces itself.

Ke He, MD

Ke He, MD (何锞)

Deputy Director & Head of Skin & Laser Aesthetics · Attending Physician, Licensed Aesthetic Attending

Skin & laser care · pigment · skin quality

Dr. Ke He is Deputy Director of the Plastic Surgery & Aesthetics Medical Center and head of its skin and laser aesthetic service at Chongqing West District Hospital. A core specialist formerly at the Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery Department of Xinqiao Hospital, affiliated with Army Medical University, she has worked on the clinical front line in skin laser and injectable aesthetics for more than 20 years, serving over ten thousand patients.

Within the dermatology service her role covers what medical treatment alone does not settle: pigment disorders that need laser management, redness and pigment left behind by inflammation, and the skin-quality work that supports a dermatologic plan. She also leads scar prevention and laser scar management for patients treated surgically, so that skin which has healed continues to improve.

Clinical focus

  • Early scar prevention and repair: silicone, pressure, injection, and laser protocols
  • Laser management of scar redness, thickness, and pigment
  • Pigment conditions: freckles, melasma, age spots, nevus of Ota, and post-inflammatory pigment
  • Acne and acne scarring; refined treatment of eyelid-margin moles, milia, and syringoma
  • Vascular conditions and full-cycle skin management

Academic roles & achievements

  • Member, Laser Medicine Group, Chinese Medical Association Plastic Surgery Branch
  • Member, Facial Rejuvenation Group, Chinese Medical Association Plastic Surgery Branch
  • Member, Chongqing Plastic Surgery Quality Control Center
  • Published 5 papers, holds 5 national patents, and introduced 2 new clinical techniques

Pigment is a diagnosis too

A brown patch is not one condition but several, and the wrong laser at the wrong setting can make melasma permanently worse. Confirming what the pigment actually is comes before choosing how to treat it.
